Von Steven Aquino, Miguel Descalzo tied for first; rules SP Hector Frangue Open Chess







Von Steven Aquino and Miguel Descalzo finished with 6 points apiece to tie for first in the recently concluded SP Hector Frangue Open Chess Tournament. Ferdinand Pallon finished with 5.5 pts to place solo third. Fourth to Ninth Places were Nelson Trayfalgar Jr., Nick Contreras, Jason Loquias, Daryll Asuncion, Cesar Gaitana, and Astley fritz Adrias with 5 points apiece. Tied for tenth to 12th places were John Mark Grasparil, Leo Magbanua, and Apolonio Fadrigo with 4.5 points each. Best female Players were Denny Canja and Mriecris Amerila.

In the Elementary Level, James John Miague of Pandan captured the crown with a perfect score of five points in five rounds. Flaviano Atienza, Regin Erfe, and John Marcie Roa placed second to fourth places with 4 points each. Tied for fith to seventh place were Joyce Fontanilla, Odette Aura Corda, and Grace Calanog with 3.5 points each.
