OPEN CHESS TOURNAMENT

TO ALL CHESSPLAYERS:
Sibalom Water District sponsors an Open Chess Tournament on October 5, 2009 at the Sibalom Water District Ofice at 1:30 p.m.. The first game will be played at the Sibalom Water District. Succeeding games will be played at Alex and Al Café and Snackhouse, Sibalom, Antique. Players should be in the playing area before the start of the tournament. Hon. Prospero Pichay, President of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines(NCFP) will be our Most Honored Guest .

MECHANICS:
- Open to all interested players
- 7 rounds, Swiss system
- 1 hour, play to finish
- 20 minutes defaulting time
- Decision of Chief Arbiter prevails
- No registration fee

Nelson Trayfalgar Jr. wins September 2009 Open Edition

Nelson Trayfalgar Jr. won the recently concluded September 2009 Open Chess Tournament held last September 5-6, 2009 at the Alex and Al Cafe and Snackhouse, Sibalom Antique. Nelson Trayfalgar displayed his mastery over a field of 18 chess participants. Tied for second to third places were Edwin Leabriz and Nick Contrearas. Fourth place was defending champion and top seeded Miguel Descalzo.

Open Chess Septembember Edition

The Open Chess Tournament, September Edition, is set on September 5 and 6, 2009. This tournament is open to all interested. No registration fee. 5 round Swiss system, 1 hour play-to-finish format. Register now at Alex and Al Cafe and Snackhouse, Sibalom, Antique.
