Barangay District II First Councilman Belton Java Jr. will be sponsoring a summer chess tournament on April 11 - 12, 2009 at the Alex and Al cafe and Snackhouse, Sibalom Antique.
This tournament will be exclusive to residents of District II only. Cash prizes will be at stake sponsored by Hon. Belton Java Jr.

Baculna wins WVRAAM Gold!
Lou Vincent Baculna won the Gold medal in Board 1 of the ongoing West Visayas Regional Athletic Meet Chess (Elementary Level). He bested players from Negros, Iloilo, Aklan, Capiz and Guimaras.
Lou Baculna will represent Western Visayas in the Palarong Pambansa. Conratulations!!!

Petinglay, Grasparil wins March 2009 Chess Open
Deonato Petinglay and John Mark Grasparil tied for first in the March 2009 Edition of the Monthly Open Chess Tournament held last March 7-8, 2009 at Alex and Al cafe and Snackhouse.
It was a very exciting last round with the race for the top honors still wide open. John Mark Grasparil took the Championship Title via a higher tie-break.
