Nelson 'Jun' Trayfalgar Jr. won the just concluded July 2008 Edition of the monthly chess tournament sponsored by the Antique Chess Society. Nelson Trayfalgar scored exciting wins agains Arnel Amar of Tibiao Antique, 3rd seeded John Mark Grasparil and defending champion Miguel Descalzo.
The July 2008 chess tournament results are as follows:
Champion - Nelson Trayfalgar Jr.
Second Place - Miguel descalzo
Third (tied) - Edwin Leabriz, Edilberto Daylusan
Fifth - Arnel Amar
Best Performer (under 15 yrs old) - Jesse Queen Villaflor
